My brother made me start Nano last year and I'm glad he did. He almost really, literally, actually forced me to join him (as much as is possible from the other side of the world) I started 8 days in, which you'll realise is a big deal if you've particpated. If not - National Novel Writing Month is a crazy way to spend November. The idea is to write 50,000 words in a month, most people write novel but there are a few short storyists and non-fiction writers in the mix. It's crazy kamikaze writing, and it's hard to keep up with so-called important things (like jobs or housework) as Nano takes over your life. I hardly slept in the desperate rush to catch up with the word count. I loved it and I can't wait to do it again this year! I'm gonna try to plan a bit in advance and who knows, I might even write something decent this time around...
