You will need: paper, scissors, washable non-toxic paint, optional large plastic mat – this can get messy! paintbrush/other implement, paintpots

Remember making butterflies at playgroup?! I loved it, so quick and the picture appears like magic.

Let your child pick a colour of paper or white and encourage them to help you fold it in half, widthways, then open back up again (this makes it heaps easier to fold later on). Let them put paint on one half if they will (or both sid...

Sensory Play/Imaginative Play - Fabric


You will need: scraps and large bits of fabric and other things interesting to the touch and eye eg corrugated card, plastic mirror, cellophane, raffia – nothing sharp or breakable of course and all clean!

This is a great one for babies, let them pick out things they want to feel and chew and lie on and roll on and throw and pull and tear. As a baby my daughter loved tearing up or crumpling old newspapers and magazines.
